Shalini Chandra is presently holding the post of Professor and Head, Department of Mathematics & Statistics, Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan. After completing her Grad and post Grad from University of Lucknow, She moved to Rohtak (Haryana) where she completed her Ph.D. in Regression analysis from Maharishi Dayananda University under the supervision of Prof. Madhulika Dube. She began her academic career in the year 2002 as an Assistant Professor at Banasthali Vidyapith in Rajasthan, India. For her keen interest as a Data Analyst, she visited Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata in 2007 under a Scholarship Program for young Scientist. For one year 2011 – 12, She has been visiting Scientist in Indian Statistical Institute, North East center, Tezpur where she taught Econometrics to the students of PG diploma in Statistical methods. Shalini was awarded young scientist scholarship in 2010 by Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata.
Shalini has contributed a number of research papers and book chapters in various journals of National and International repute. Six students have been awarded Ph.D. and M.phil degrees in Statistics under her supervision. The very interesting Project “Evaluation of Mega-Misuse of Statistics in Rajasthan” funded by University Grants Commission, India was also successfully completed under her Co-PI Ship. One major DST sponsored Project has also been completed by Shalini in Banasthali Vidyapith.
Shalini organised many seminars/training programmes/workshops on various topics in Statistics like Block Designs, Time Series Modeling etc under CMS. An international conference has been organised jointly with University Putra Malaysia, Malaysia on ‘Computational Mathematics & Statistics’ under her coordination. For her keen interest as a Data analyst, she organized Workshops on LATEX and R Software in the department.
She is an external expert member of various National and International committees and forums. She also holds the position as referee and is a member of Editorial Boards in a number of National and International Statistics Journals.
Shalini is well conversant to handle any data with Recent Statistical Computing Techniques and Statistical Software especially SPSS, STATCRAFT and R.
Shalini joined Data Analysis Core Group (DACG) in April, 2018 where she introduced various Time-Series and Econometrics Modelling for Data Analysis for the clients of the group and also extending her expertise to a number of researchers of universities and other research institutions of government and corporate sectors across the country.
