Prof. R. K. Singh

The Chief Mentor of DACG RAMKARAN SINGH has been a faculty member in the Department of Statistics, University of Lucknow, INDIA for a quite long period and retired from the positions of Head, Statistics Department and Dean, Faculty of Science, University of Lucknow in 2008. As a Director of the Computer Centre, University of Lucknow, he developed the department of Computer Science and created enormous facilities including fiber optics network for the University of Lucknow. He holds Ph.D. degrees from the University of Lucknow as well as from the University of Kent, UK. He has been elected as the Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society, London. He has been a position holder all along and has been awarded several gold medals for academic performance. He taught at the University of Kent and the  University of Newcastle, upon Tyne, United Kingdom and obtained several awards for best publications. He has been reviewer of research articles for several national and international Journals.

Prof. Singh has been invited in several international and national conferences/ workshops held at universities and institutes which include Cambridge, Oxford, Edinburg, Sussex, Kent, UK, Berlin, Los-Angeles, California, Windsor and British Columbia, Canada, University of Connecticut, USA, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata & Delhi, IIT, Kanpur, Delhi, BHU, JNU, AMU, Banglore and Mysore Universities.

He has been Chief Consultant/ Group Leader in many Central Government and State Government projects. He has also been Chairman of the Committee Constituted by U.P. Govt. for change of Base year for rural and Urban Index Numbers. He has been involved in several projects like Prospects for improvement in production and productivity of pulses in India, Energy Modelling for Uttar Pradesh- Project in Collaboration with TERI, Preparation of 25 years perspective plan of land use for agriculture and non-agriculture uses, Socio-cultural and Economic Development with its interconnections with population growth, control and redistribution, Chandigarh for the Ministry of Govt. of India, a Study of Chikan Crafts-Women in Lucknow and Unnao Districts, Water and Power Consultancy Services (A Govt. of India Undertaking) and many moreā€¦.

Prof Singh has been member of a number of Professional and Academic Bodies of India and abroad. He is an Expert member in the UPSC and almost all state Service Commissions in India.

He also taught Quantitative Methods and Marketing Research at IIM, Lucknow for fifteen years as a guest faculty. His key research interests are Multilevel Modeling, Sequential Methods, Econometrics, Survey Sampling, and Bayesian Methods. He has been performing the Applications of Multivariate techniques including Discriminant Analysis, Conjoint Analysis, Multi-dimensional Scaling. Marketing Research and Correspondence Analysis. Presently, he is engaged in developing Outliers detection as well as their utilizations techniques.
