Dr. S.M.Khan

Dr. Khan is a member of the Data Analysis Core Group (DACG) and Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh (INDIA). He is masters in Statistics and Psychology from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh and Ph.D. in Psychology from University of Lucknow.  He did diploma in computer programming and many certificate courses in high level languages. Prior to joining the AMU, Dr. Khan was an officer at the Research Designs and Standards Organization (only R&D organization of the Indian Railways) and posted at Lucknow, Kolkata and Mumbai. He was responsible for selection of Safety Staff for Indian Railways through aptitude test and research relating to human error in train operation.

  • He has over twenty six years of research experience in applied psychology and was instrumental in completion of 53 major research projects over the Indian Railways.
  • He has authored, co-authored and contributed 46 research articles in National and International Journals of repute. He has standardized and published 12 aptitude tests.
  • Dr. Khan has attended and presented papers in several National and International Conferences, Workshop and Seminars over the globe.
  • Dr. Khan delivered number of invited lectures at various universities, Government and Corporate sectors in research methodology, data analysis and decision making.
  • Many students have completed their PG dissertation, doctoral/post doctoral research under his guidance and 7 students are undergoing doctoral research under him.
  • Dr. Khan has helped large number of research students in preparation of synopsis, standardization of tools, data analysis and interpretation of results.
  • He is reviewer of number of journals.
  • Data consultant to various and corporate sectors. Mentor for South Asia for SPSS.
  • Dr. Khan has vast experience in developing research protocol, data analysis using SPSS, SAS, Statistica, Stata, etc. software and interpretation of results.
  • He has also organized number of workshops for Industries/Organizations/Universities on Data Analysis using SPSS.
  • His current areas of research are: Psychometry, Psychological Assessment, Research Methods & Data analysis, Cognitive Science, Industrial Psychology, Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Management.
